    I half agree, and half don't. On the one hand I agree it's really annoying when people act like they are special or above others for displaying a certain personality trait. It's very arrogant and elitist and exclusive, and breeds an "us versus them" mentality. But on the other, there's nothing wrong with exaggerating your "darkness" just like there's nothing wrong with exaggerating your optimism. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look "cool" and there's nothing wrong with defining "cool" in a different way to other people. There's nothing wrong with dressing in a certain way to fit into a community where you feel more comfortable than a community that doesn't encourage you to dress that way. There's nothing wrong with feel comfortable in a different skin to "normal".
