Is it normal to diagnose myself with everything?

Anything that happens to me I end up googling my symptoms, especially my mental health stuff, and diagnosing myself with everything from OCD to bipolar disorder to early schizophrenia.
I think it's because my brother has severe depression along with OCD and that it kind of runs in my family that I can relate to everything. I think it's weird, but do you think it's normal?

You should perhaps diagnose yourself with hypochondria, as that's what it sounds like.

Never check your symptoms on the web or you'll ended up just like me, hypochondriac. I constantly worried about my health.
Once, I've successfully convinced myself that I have cancer. I was freaked out but later my gp told me that it was nothing to worry about.

Its nothing wrong to actually look up the internet for your symptoms but don't 'overdo' it. Don't get yourself too obsessed with all those symptoms checkers. Consult with a local gp instead.

There is a 99% chance you don't have these things. Symptoms can be very generic and can only be interpreted by a doctor. You'll probably be able to make a more accurate self-diagnosis if you DON'T Google your symptoms.

ahahahaha i diagnose myself with everything i wanna have... xD but is not so simple... because, i read about some things, for example about something schizo/paranoid, and i really have some simtoms, and they are not made up... also i'm anti social,a cutter and sometimes anorexic... so i have a lot of mental illness, but that can be... so... if i wanna a answer i just have to go to a specialist... :D

Sounds like hypochondria...or health anxiety as the pro's like call it lol.
I've been down the same path, to the point that I needed treatmeant for it. Happy to say though that I'm perfectly fine now :) First thing I'm gunna say is STOP GOOGLING YOU SYMTOMPS!It will do you more harm than in will good. That was the first thing that I was told by a phycologist. If you instead google "Health Anxiety" your gunna find alot more useful help. Also maybe look into seeing a doctor if it's really bothering you and just to make sure that you are healthy. There are tons of resources that could help you such as the internet and books, though I would suggest you look up the term health anxiety rather than hypochondria since that is the clinical name for it. Hope this helps :)

Don't use google as a source. I know it's tempting but for me it stresses me out more
