Is it Normal to date someone who is almost an exact opposite of you?

My boyfriend and I are opposites. I'm socially awkward and suck at talking to people. I don't like standing out, I'm unfashionable, and my skinny self can eat enough for seven people. My boyfriend is good at talking to people and can keep a conversation with strangers. He'll go out dressed as video game characters and he likes fashionable clothes a lot, which makes people take a second look at him. He also can't eat as much as I can and he's overweight. We still get along just fine. XD
