Is it normal to date someone for 9 months and still not have the title

I have been happily dating a guy for the past nine months. We have many things in common and like each others friends and family. But when I asked for the title of girlfriend he says he is not ready. We are both only dating each other and I feel like he is my boyfriend. I have tried to break it off due to the lack of commitment but he always says he will be ready soon. Im so confused if I should wait...:(

Is It Normal?

  • Its not normal, you have needs, he needs to see, not even his closest friends, even loved ones perhaps, cant wait.

  • hmmmmm...well to be honest other than the "no title" it sounds like you two don't really have any problems and he's a nice guy. So all you need to consider is if the title of girlfriend is worth enough to you to try and find another guy like that

  • Give him some space, maybe go hang out with your girlfriends more often than him. He'll notice you're not around and will come to the conclusion sooner that he's either ready to accept your pretty obvious relationship or will realize that he's too immature for a title

  • Tell him if he's not ready to except an obvious relationship then he's immature.

  • Time for him to put up or you split. Stand up for yourself.

  • it's been 9 MONTHS! if he's not ready for commitment now when the fuck will he be? walk OUT and if he cares enough he will man up and meet your needs if not better off without him.

  • omg no! don't wait. you should read a book by steve harvey called 'act like a lady, think like a man'.

in a nice way, you have to communicate that you have standards. if he won't comply then it's time to apply the pressure (break it off)

it's funny how, when we're in a relationship, we cannot see what everyone else does. the bright red flags.

if you are seeing each other for 9 months, having sexual relations of any kind and meeting the friends/family...then you ARE a girlfriend.

    please respect thyself!!! : )

    • I agree! How long does this man expect you to wait? Let him know that you're tired of waiting and wasting time. If he still doesn't budge, then quit wasting your time and find someone who is SURE whether or not he wants to be with you.
