Is it normal to cry when you sing?

This happens to me too! It doesn't even maytter if the lyrics are emotional or not but I always tear up singing, it's so weird

This happens to me all the time! =D I'm also a songwriter. When I like the sound of my voice, and when the lyrics mean a lot to me I tear up. I'm pretty sure it's completely normal!

Yes I've done that many times in my life. I think it's actually a good release and sometimes when I need a good cry I'll make up a song and wham, tears a plenty.

The songs might not be sad, but your words obviously have a strong emotional meaning to you.

certain songs, emotional or not, will choke me up when i sing along to them. it makes me mad, because i just want to sing... but i just wanna cry. i too, think it's the melody more often than the lyrics.

wow, never knew someone else does too. Like you, i have to be making up the songs, and most of the time, they aren't even sad!! it's good, you're feeling the emotion!

you absolutely love the songs. that's great! be a singer! I kinda do the same thing when I sing ALONG to certain songs, but never my own. my songs suck lol. ROCK ON!
