I have a soft spot for robots too, I have no idea why. Most of them are pretty cute. You should see me every time I watch Wall-E, I get all emotional. Him watching that musical, entranced by the hand holding, holding his own hand and then trying to hold Eve's--Omg, I practically cry every time. Maybe it's the fact that every creature (human, animal, mechanical) has some sort of inherent need to make a connection with someone or something else. Robots are always assumed to not need that and yet in movies and literature, it's usually a wrong assumption.
Is it normal to cry when bad things happen to robots in movies?
