It could be depression, which if it continues to happen till the point where you almost feel like you can't get out of bed then you probably should seek help.
Also like kelllyanne said if you are in your teens it could be puberty causing it. The hormones go crazy in you system and causes odd mood swings.
Also eat some chocolate that actually releases a chemical in your body that helps uplift your mood. That's why you see women eating chocolate all the time. :P I would recommend dark or bittersweet chocolate. But if you like neither milk chocolate can still help.
