Is it normal to cough from eating green apple flavored candy?

Whenever I eat green apple flavored candy I have the urge to cough. Could this be a slight food allergy or irritation? This is the only known flavor I get this affect from. Anyone else experience this?

    Sounds like irritation to me. Could be the dyes, or a certain ingredient. That would drive me nuts. Id stop eating it.
