I was watching bus crash videos where it shows the funny looks on peoples faces before, or as they are crashing in the bus. LOL!

You don't enjoy it. So why watch them?

Maybe because you know how horrific the world can be, and watching people dying is almost like putting into words. It's cathartic.

Or maybe you're angry with yourself and you're putting yourself through the trauma of watching the videos because you feel guilty about something (even if it wasn't your fault)?

Or maybe you, like a lot of people, can feel that the world can't carry on the way it is, that the economy is going to collapse and that a lot of people are going to die, and you're mentally preparing yourself?

Totally normal .... kinda.... not really. lol
Depends I guess. It's like everyone slowing down to see a crash on the highway.

I don't know if it's normal or not, but I have. Simply because I was curious. One man one jar, three guys one hammer, etc.

First, it depends on your age. If this is happening in your 30s and 40 and beyond, I say not normal.

Most ages before 30 it is reasonably normal. It's a pretty simple concept...humans are curious. It's no different than most animals.

I watched like death videos when I was a teenager probably anywhere from a dozen to two dozen times with my friends. There was a DVD called Faces of Death. My friends moreso were the ones who wanted to watch it.

That said, every now and then, such as maybe once a year, I will stumble onto LiveLeak.com to see some viral video that has been publicized and end up watching several death videos.

I mean, maybe more than anything else, death is something we just don't understand or know anything about Watching that stuff is part learning how to avoid death and part needing to feel to know if it's something we want because let's be honest at some point a lot of people have thought about wanting to die. Toss in the factor of how bizarre some deaths are and it's a simple equation.

But that's my perspective. Gross stuff like 2 girls 1 cup...watched it once for about 10 seconds and that was well more than enough. I don't need to see that stuff at all.

There were several videos (They were released on VHS) from the worst Faces of Death. I've seen enough of that when I was young. So I agree with the fascination of youth being a factor.

Before 30 it's normal? You do know the prime age(s) of most serialkillers right? Before 35. Not only that, but some studies show sick/death videos along with other things can cause violent outcomes to those who's brains are not fully developed.

When you're "old" (LOL) 30's on up if you haven't killed someone or chose that path you're probably A-ok! Watch all the damn videos you want actually.

I say this because I'm in my mid 30's! lol

I see your points. I wasn't saying viewing death videos often is ever recommended. I was just saying I think when we are younger we are more curious in general. The way I was looking at it is most of us are still figuring out life and ourselves until we hit 30, to just use a basic age threshold. I guess I was being somewhat stereotypical.

My thoughts are that in general people who are, say, 35 + are either married with kids or unmarried and somewhat lonely. I was operating under the thought of this all as a timetable. Say Bob was a normal guy who out of curiosity watched the videos here and there when he was a teen and then a little bit in his 20s. However, never married, now well into his 30s, spends a lot of time alone, and still watches death videos. I expect Bob to have matured to the point of not watching death videos.

Or even if Bob was married, he should be so occupied with his wife and/or kids and his job/career that death videos shouldn't even be on his mind...don't you think?

Again, this entire conversation is full of suppositions, but that was my general view, however I definitely see your points. I also was not saying that I am encouraging death videos to the youth (or any age). Me saying it is normal for a specific age group is me saying I understand it more, I guess.

Oh I wasn't really going anywhere with my post and certainly not judging or questioning you. More so (also) stereotypical too - that being the brain just beginning to function and while doing so why would anyone want to watch and learn from "death" videos.
In the same sense those older watching, still watching or ever watching ... could be the same ones who watched when they were younger.

I don't think just because you watch certain videos it rots your brain. Lots of times it'll make you think. Makes you value life more.
Then again there's others (I'm sure) who just like to see others hurt or die. I'd say they are the few hopefully.

I'll click on a death video. Never killed anyone. Not yet (LOL) I don't have it in me unless they hurt someone I really loved or totally messed with my life or someone's close to me.

I'll watch that ISIS shit all day long. Not because I think it's great what they are doing to people, but so I know exactly what the wrong side of islam is. True life people.

I'm shocked by the lack of edge. Both of you need to look harder
