Is it normal to completely despise hugs?

I hate hugs. Period. Don't hug me. Whether you are a friend, family, someone I know, or someone I don't know just don't hug me. What. So. Ever. I just don't get why I don't like them. The only thing that could effect me this way, is that I was always told I was ugly, stinky, and stupid. So, maybe I'm scared that someone is gonna discover these flaws. Also, could you give me reasons for this please.

    If someone is prepared to hug you, then they probably don't think you stink or are ugly, but to each their own.

    Hugs are amazing!! Seriously.....you don't know what youre missing! While I completely understand where you are coming from, I personally find it a bit strange because I'm the complete opposite lol. But I guess it's normal :)

    Thanks for the help. I was seriously confused of why I hate hugs. My best friend loves them, so I guess I started thinking about it and I wondered "Is it normal?"

      When you say "Do not hug me" people will do it just to get a rise. Just because its such a kick watching a person who hates hugs to scream and jump from the act. People seem to love this reaction. Kind of like when people hate phobias. People are just asses.

    I used to hate hugs, but it had to do with the fact that it was extremely uncomfortable to me. I even kicked a teacher in kindergarten who hugged me to try to get me to stop crying.

    The contact was what bothered me though.

    It's normal. Sounds like you're being considerate, but a;; cause of one person. Forget what that person said, he was probably having a bad day.
