Is it normal to choose and prefer staying single?

In theory I like the ideal of a couple, the fake idea of being in love and all that jazz, sharing your life with one person who supposedly "completes" you... but in practice I feel way better single, having sex whenever it enchants me with strangers or ambiguous buddies, living short passionate love affairs and letting them down the moment I start falling for them.

Is It Normal?

  • I have loved begin single, and would have happily continued despite the peer pressure from friends...but certain life events have changed me and I'm now in a position where I actually need someone in my life. If you're happy in your life, don;t change, carry on as you are and let life flow its natural course for you. Singles can have just as a rewarding life as coupled folks.

  • If you don't want a relationship then don't have one. Simple as that. You don't need a relationship to be happy and 'complete.' And to hell with anyone who tells you otherwise. Do what makes you happy.

  • You should stay single until your feelings change, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as your are honest with people that you enjoy being single and just want a fling. If you are a guy, you had better be careful not to impregnate anybody, whether or not they are trying to trap you.

At some point it may become tiresome trying to constantly find a good sex partner. Or you realize there are fewer people to choose from and it starts feeling like work, and it is not as easy to impress people just with your looks, and all that jazz.
