I don't want to be a negative nancy, but the fact that you began a relationship with your ex's best friend was the first mistake... I wouldn't have even done that. Because even though the ex is an Ex, feelings always find their way back no matter what. You shouldn't have been there when the gf wasn't present, second mistake. Third mistake was adding alcohol into the equation. And the alcohol doesn't make for an excuse because it was a Choice to consume it and a Choice to consume the amount you two did. This is just selfish, and I think you should just leave the ex and his best friend alone. Because not you've created a situation where they're possibly being pitted against each other, you've created future trust issues. Let them go.
