It's actually not true yet, I was kinda hypothetically asking. Glad you got the humor, I thought it would be pretty funny too.
I assume some of the really small sites could be bought out for less than 300$. The site I had in mind is extremely minute, although it has kind of a "cult following" (so I can say with almost 100% certainty that no one here has ever heard of it, and I'm not going to mention it because well, I really hate the website).
I actually did consider buying IIN awhile back for similar reasons, but nah.
And yes, I am very petty. I had an entire wikia site taken down and banned, because people were using it to talk shit about me and I wanted revenge. It was funny to me once the creators found out it was gone.
It's an interesting prospect though, isn't it? There's several websites I would probably be better off without, including this one. Facebook, would definitely be one to shut down. Even if someone could buy that one out, people would just replace it with something similar. It's become ingrained in our culture.
Yeah! I remember awhile back when everyone was freaking about the supposed "internet shutdown" or whatever it was, I could not have cared less, and honestly thought it would have been hilarious to see all these internet addicted keyboard warriors having to face their pathetic reality. And I myself have been "addicted" to the internet for about 15 years now. I would not miss it. Unfortunately, it seems like that was a lot of sensationalist BS. If I was rich as hell it would be fun to just shut down random websites because I didn't like the people on it, and wanted to piss them off as revenge. And no one could do anything about it other than start over.
IIN to buy small websites and shut them down?

Yeah, could you give us some specific examples? That's really petty, but also pretty funny if it's true.

What is the name of the website you hate?
