Is it normal to bring your phone? Of course. Everyone does. Just put it on mute or vibrate and go about your day. Most people text during class to, but thats stupid. Im not paying $900 per credit hour to sit around on my phone. I need an education.
If your professor keeps hearing it go off, they'd just kick you out.
