If the prof doesn't give you the side-eye for having a phone that keeps going off during their lecture, other students will probably tell you to piss off.
I had a lecture a while back that had a strict no-phones rule, but there was this ass whose phone would go off every 5, 10 minutes or so. Prof didn't do anything about it as he sat pretty far back in the hall, but he definitely got a bunch of "Fuck you"s that semester.
Is it normal to bring cell phones into classrooms?
