Make sure it's on mute. I had one professor that would kick you out of class if your phone was heard and fail you if it was heard during an exam. He wasnt bullshitting either. I dont think it is morally acceptable to prevent someone from bringing a phone to class considering some student have children or others they care for and need to be contacted in the event of an emergency, but get it together and keep it muted.
