So you say you're best freinds but you think you're only remaining her friend in hopes that she falls in love with you?
I guess I don't understand why you label your friendship in such a way--as though there is something 'off' about a male and a female trusting, loving and getting to know each other as freinds regardless of whether it turns into something more. It isn't as if you must choose between that and cutting all ties with her.
As far as being manipulative goes...people feel what they feel. Don't be so hard on yourself and don't feel like this situation you're in needs so many labels and rules.
