Is it normal to binge watch

I'm binge watching a show on Netflix, not gunna say what show, so I dont get any spoilers (it's a show that's been out for a while and I just started) but.....

Is it normal to binge watch a show and then feel like life is just like what your watching??? You've watched it for hrs on end and you go out in public (knowing it's not true) but still feel like life is that show??

I have a history of if I keeping thinking something is going to happen, eventually it does-like somehow I manifest it.

Ik to others I sound cuckoo crazy, or maybe the show has gotten to me. But has anyone else felt this way from binge watching??

That happens to me with books. I’ll literally adopt a characters mannerisms. It’s fucking weird.

    • Last time I read a book was about 6 months ago, but that as well, another great example!! You get so invested!!

Normal to binge watch if you know you love to watch something.

If a book, TV show or movie resonates with you, draws you in and allows you to suspend disbelief, then it's really no different to actually being there and participating in the action as far as part of our brains is concerned.

This is why we have physiological responses - starting at jump-scares, elevated heart-rate and damp palms during tense scenes, and becoming sexually aroused when watching erotic scenes. If you spend hours immersed in an imaginary world, it's perfectly normal for your brain to need some time to shift back to the real world.
