Positive effect for whom? All those slaughtered over the centuries in the name of one gawd or another?
All those who's culture and way of life have been destroyed so that they might be turned into slaves, oh excuse me, brought into the fold.
All those who use their religion as an excuse to molest children, terrorize others, teach their children to hate and take no responsibility for their actions, chanting, "It's the will of gawd."
If you believe in a gawd (other than Neptune, of course) then you believe in a thing of purest evil.
Religion is the ultimate sin.
Your response has nothing to do with rational thought, so you've just proved my point.
Believe what you like based on your emotional needs or blind faith but don't try and pretend it's rational or reasonable. It's not only possible but common to be a good person without being a christian and certainly possible to be christian and be a very bad person: pedophile priests and those who cover up for them to give only one example.
Yes I agree, but there are alot of good Christians and Catholics.
If you want to go there, then I'll say that athiest have killed the most people in history.
IIN to believe you are smarter

Believing in God is reasonable.
Emotionally reasonable wouldnt you say?
Look at Christians. Sure no one is perfect. But theres a good amount of them that try to be good :)
So believing in God does have a positive effect.

Once again, Athiest are the ones who killed the most people in history.
So lets not talk about who killed the most. It's getting old.
You dont understand the greatness of God, you only understand the corrupt of humans. I dont expect your brain to understand anything.

You understand how humans kill each other. You cant blame God for people killing each other.
Go gypsysailor! Don't hold back, tell it like it is!!!!

What benefit is there in turning of your brain and accepting myths on faith?
