Is it normal to believe we live in a computer simulation?

I believe we live in a computer simulation and that aliens are putting thoughts in our heads and that we are all simply experiments. Everyone else is just brainwashed and I am the chosen one to receive this knowledge. Is it normal?

You sound as if you are manic and suffering from delusions. I really think you should exercise a healthy level of suspicion, even about your own thoughts. If these thoughts trouble you, or you fear they're taking over, challenge them with evidence. What do you truly know?

Haha! You are a figment of my imagination and you think YOU are the chosen one! Funny... wait, did I choose you?

    Close, but not entirely correct.

We are being scanned, transported and replicated. This occurs much more frequently than once per second. It does take them about 2.4 billion years to replicate the Level 2 Universe. Time is irrelevant between Level 2 Universes. Every subatomic particle, including us, is stored in a ternary data form.

The VHATC-L2 do communicate with some of us.

This occurs in the Quark Realm, by using quarkenergy.

Sadly, you are not, "the chosen one". If you were, then you would know that the term "aliens" is derogatory to the VHATC-L2 and other life forms that we share the Universe with.

It's very convenient that aliens adopt the English language and alphabet for us!

        Incorrect.

The communication does not work that way.
It is an exchange of thoughts, ideas, concepts and sometimes emotions.
It is not verbal, aural or written language.

Please do not refer to the VHATC-L2 as "aliens". Thank you. They are also insistent that they are not 'deities' either, although some humans might perceive them as such.

Figments of your imagination can do whatever they want. Very convenient.

Any recent messages from the VHATC-L2?

I am in constant communication with them, since I had uncovered the Actual Nature of the Universe, and understood quarkenergy, a fundamental constituent of the Universe.

This is why the VHATC-L2 do not recommend that humans do this with their brains, but with quantum computers instead. Once a communication is established, it cannot be disconnected, but you can always turn a computer off.

Its an interesting and plausible theory, and when you think about it, it would be the ultimate proof of God's existence, in this case, god being a bunch of alien computer programmers.

Of course, its about as likely as aliens seeding and/or genetically engineering us from another place and/or organism, or any creation theory really, seeing as we barely know anything about our origin.

That would make it easier for me to take over!

My minions, find that code! its time to make a few changes.........

I'm going to say your particular delusion is not normal but the core idea is very plausible.

If it is possible to create a simulated universe and we do at some point do so, then those simulated universes will eventually create their own simulations. The moment we prove a simulated universe is possible, by sheer probability we are almost guaranteed to be living in one. There will be far more simulated universes than non-simulated ones so using basic math it becomes a reasonable assumption.

But to believe we are now despite no hard evidence would be foolish. To let it affect nay aspect of your life would be foolish as well. Adding on all of that alien stuff and extra theories is what makes your question not normal.

You obviously don't think it is normal as you called it a delusion.
But do most people think we live in a computer simulation?
      Answer: no.

      Therefore, it's not normal -__-

Aside from your strange need to tell me what I already said, your gauge of normal isn't really a logical one either. Homosexuality is normal, yet most of the population is heterosexual. Majority doesn't rule normality. There are other factors. I'm Caucasian. That's not normal under your logic because the majority is Asian.

Your response is strangely confrontational. I don't really see where I implied it was normal to believe what he believes. I'm pretty sure, unless I'm hallucinating, I actually said as much in the first sentence and again in the last paragraph.

But the actual core idea of us living in a simulation is plausible. Just unproven and shouldn't change our behavior.

I think many people have considered similar versions of this idea, but to BELIEVE it is something different. Sounds like you may be experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia. You should check to see if the disease runs in your family. Also, I suggest reading up on the symptoms of schizophrenia, and talking to a therapist--they can't make you take medication or force you to do anything you don't want to, but they could help you pinpoint some of your anxieties and help you deal with them.

What if I told you that your question is basically the plot of the Matrix...

You weren't the first one to come up with this idea. You probs were a toddler when matrix came out. And even that wasn't the first idea of it. You are not the chosen one. Get help.

I've read various things on aliens, and to their contacts, none of the ever said that this reality was a computer simulation. So, I'm iffy on that theory.

Uh, some of us are pre-computer, so I for one don't buy this scenario. Telephones actually had to have wires and phone numbers were only 2 letters and 5 digits and no area codes (for the WHOLE country!) when I was a kid.
