I think the perception is quite common unfortunately; I am a really deep person, but am homely, & not very flamboyant. I've come out to plenty of people; I'm super nice, but afraid to get hurt by people and be in any situation which I consider unhealthy. Unfortunately, a lot of people I dated were either obsessive, or had issues, or made me uncomfortable... But there are, ofcourse many aspects & lgbt people are complex & have unique needs and issues and varying degrees of difficulty with their lives. I have noticed that attractive & well-built men always seem to have an easier time, & thats my own little peeve-- Shallow people only have as much power as you give them; no one deserves to be shallow, what a curse! Teach them what its all about.
