It's normal to base an opinion on experiences you've had, as long as you don't generalise and deny other factors, which I don't believe you're doing:). It does interest me, though, why this is. There is obviously a bit of truth behind the stereotype, and I wonder what makes it that way, why gay people would be more shallow or camp than the "average" straight man. It makes me very curious. Of course it's a very general trend, since men (and just people in general) can be quite shallow, but it is very interesting.
