IIN To Believe That Drinking Distilled Water Cures Cancer?

  • As someone who has studied a fair amount of Biology, I'll walk through your post.

    "faulty DNA transcodage"

Partially true. That is one way that the specific kind of error that causes cancer can work its way into a given cell's chromosomes, but more generally it is because the command in your DNA for your cell to stop growing is damaged.

    "activated by ion receptors"

    Nope.

    "smoking or radiation"

The mechanisms by which these two end up damaging the DNA are very different.

"This is where distilled water comes in. Distilled water is water without ANY impurities. It's so pure that it doesn't conduct electricity. This scientific property makes it a perfect buffer against free-floating ions, shielding cancer cell's ion receptors and preventing them from activating."

There are so many incorrect things here. First off, there is a huge difference between DEIONIZED water and DISTILLED water. Deionized water is water without ions in it. Distilled water is simply water that was boiled and condensed. Most distilled water has ions in it- it will in fact conduct electricity. Also, there is a huge difference between free radicals and free-floating ions. There appears to be some sort of link between large quantities of free radicals in the human body and cancer. Free floating ions in your bloodstream are necessary as you would die without them.

"Everyday I drink 2 liters of distilled water and I'm in the prime of my life."

Drinking lots of water is good for everyone and I wouldn't be surprised if you felt healthier after increasing your water intake.

You would be saving money if you just drank tap water, though.

I'm going to add that I'm somewhat suspicious of your claim that you're a scientist considering how little you know about cellular biology. Also, just a heads up, deionized water can be fatal if you drink enough as it lowers the dissolved ion concentration (i.e. electrolytes) in your bloodstream. I don't know if two liters a day of the stuff would be enough to kill you, but I wouldn't try.

    • Thanks for your detailed response. I still hold the hope that distilled water will one day lead to the cure of cancer.
My understanding of biology is a bit limited for sure. I'm an engineer so in my part time I theorize solutions to problems. For future reference, DNA transcodage is the proper term in context. My Spell Correct turned transcription into transcodage. Thanks again for your help. I just needed a reassurance that I'm not crazy.

    • I'm sorry, what the fuck is DNA transcodage?

      • Good catch- it's not a real word. What OP probably meant was transcription, which is also wrong. Transcription is where DNA used and RNA is produced. No damage to DNA would occur there. What would be correct (and what I assumed in writing the above post) is replication, where DNA is used as a template to create more DNA.
