Is it normal to believe that a persons career is based solely on Politics?

  • If that is the case then fair, fair. That being said I didnt expect much of the 90k, just simply with the manpower that is needed to fill said rolls and how goverment jobs usually pay crap. We still have a trucker shortage and trucking pays better. Cant imagine that gap filling up as quickly as a civilian sector job.

    • Not everyone wants to drive a truck or do construction.

I have a friend that I am assisting in a job hunt right now as he was laid off in early July. He's looking for industrial or factory work so he can be home on a routine schedule and help take care of his 2 year old daughter.

He currently has has 2 job offers due to my rewriting his resume 2 weeks ago; but neither is as much $ as he was previously making or hoping for (both offers are in the $19 starting range).

Today we talked on how he and his wife should evaluate the 2 job offers to decide which is likely best long term. He has requested information from both companies on their benefit & retirement programs so he can compare those.

Despite everyone saying they are short of employees. I've watched my about 27 year old friend struggle finding a job.
