Unfortunately, this has become all too common.
The main reasons for this is, 1) because there are far too many people competing for too few resources and 2) our Socio-political systems have broken down and these have caused many of us to live in an isolated corporate environment (even though there are more people alive than ever before).
Meanwhile, the greedy corporate political elite, sits on their hands, with their heads buried in the sand, and pretends that there aren't any real and very serious issues to deal with. All they do is scream for more.
