  • Excellent post. Did a tiny bit of research on this years ago and was saddened by the implications of what I understood of the responses from some very highly respected voices in the faith. James Dobson, if I remember correctly, indicated this disposition would most likely be a burden and a struggle one would carry their entire life. Not that God was unable to remove this, but it did seem the exception those cases where an individual experienced deliverance from this. He indicated at that time (this was 20+ years ago) that there were a few programs that attempted to help people overcome this, but it appeared success (true change) was not too great. Of course, there were many cases where people reported deliverance from this, and to God be the glory, but again, this was not the norm.

I get the impression you are not really asking the right/wrong of this from the biblical perspective. You appear to have beliefs based on your reading of scripture that homosexuality is wrong. Perhaps I am reading into your post but if I am correct, I also agree with this. It is true that there are many denominations that have accepted openly gay members even allowing them to serve as leaders. I have met many wonderful, openly gay individuals. Many of these, I am sure are wiser and better educated than I (many times over I am sure!) I can only say against these that in my humble and unlearned opinion, scripture does not support this lifestyle.

I do hope God himself will give you peace and deliverance on this. Best wishes.
