I agree with the previous comment. In addition to that, I think how he characterizes this situation should be considered. If he feels that cheating was a mistake that he hopes to never repeat, then I think he is worth trusting. If he is however, only unhappy that he was caught that time, then perhaps 2 months might be long enough for him to have done the same deed to you?
Allow you knowledege of him so far, and a knowledge of what you honestly feel you could live with help you decide on how to proceed.
