  • I'm not going to lecture you on selfishness and the like because that goes without saying. I will say that most sad stories I have heard that involves a woman becoming a single Mother starts with a boyfriend that wasn't ready for kids. You want to be a Mother but the first thing about Motherhood is putting your children's needs before your own - even before they're here. So wait until you're both ready, it will be in everyone's best interest.

    That said, I understand. Sometimes it gets me down but I'm not ready for children yet. My husband is, I'm not. Speaking from the perspective of someone who ISN'T ready, like your boyfriend, while I wouldn't be devastated, the adjustment and the process will be hell if I have a kid now. Parenthood is much more enjoyable when it's wanted and anticipated.
