Since you don't like them either, it's probably an interest thing. You would have a better relationship with one who wasn't so interested in games; that's normal. The 'making fun of them part' is meh though; people have their interests, and you have your's.
Likewise, my boyfriend and I both game and love that we both have solid interest in that. The funny thing is, we also play WoW. We both enjoy just hanging out with friends on there and watching the antics in chat. That's our cup of tea, and we don't expect other peeps to also have it.
