Is it normal to be told to wake up?

I hear from music and other people one day I'll wake up. Really? I'm not asleep, how is that possible? This is actually a game played by people who think we're in the matrix. Bullshit, utter bullshit! Reality is that literally, it's reality, and the truth is you'll always be in your world, you'll never wake up from it. But people kept telling me to wake up, this isn't just a metaphore for facing reality, it implies we're asleep, have you noticed everyone is saying "wake up", "wake up Australia" etc? You can't wake up, this is reality. What happened to the doors of perception? Perceive reality and you'll see it for what it is: believe me, this is not a dream, is this normal?

I feel like you're taking it a bit literally. When people say "wake up" it's more like.. "be aware of what's happening around you."

Sometimes they're a crazy conspiracy theorist who thinks there's a shadow society of lizard people, sometimes they're just someone who wants the people being addressed to be more socially or politically aware. YMMV.

Many times, those who tell you to "wake up" are actually asking you to accept their particular views of the world.

Some people desperately need to believe they have a uniquely insightful understanding of how the world works and what's wrong with it. Since their views are Right, anyone who doesn't share their beliefs must be asleep or just plain stupid.

And sometimes the people that tell you to wake up, are actually right.

      Depends on their viewpoint though.
