Is it normal to be this contrary?

I can understand the teenage rebellious nature but I'm not young. Anyway, it only takes someone to tell me I can't do something and I make sure I do it.

For example, I've been written off by hospitals a few times in my life, they gave up my physio saying I wouldn't walk again - wrong! Or if I ask my bf if I should go out and he says no, I am immediately energised and head out the door.

My attitude to the so called 'experts' is, Get out of my way and let me show you how to do it.

Is this normal or would you be more passive / submissive / lazy?

  • Don't even try to understand the true nature of the Universe.

  • I wish I had that kind of attitude, but you know what that kind of attitude annoys people especially me, which may also be the cause of them giving up on you.

    • I doubt it coz I keep doing their exercises etc to the best of my ability but when they give up I find other ways to succeed.

Funnily enough, throughout my education I always submitted to superior intelligence and still trust the experts until they tell me there's nothing more they can do.

As for my bf I think that's just a control issue that he wants me to do something I'm not sure about.

  • I look at every problem and find a way to solve it. If one person can do it, I can too. That's how I look at things. It certainly doesnt hurt. As long as there is a balance I think it is fine.

  • I see a problem if rebellion becomes the name of the game.
That is, when things get "wavy" between "you cannot" and "you shouldn't".

If you also get an urge to storm outside if your BF tells you to stay here after you ask him, somethings going too far in my book.
