Is it normal to be so scared of potential bad dreams that i don't sleep?

Sometimes especially after seeing something unsettling (Not like a jump scare or anything like that but something unnerving and strange) I get too anxious and scared to fall asleep and stay up all night until morning because I can't bear the thought of dreaming about whatever the thing that disturbed me was. It's hard for me to really explain but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Is it normal to feel this way?

Fear of fear. Normal I'd say.
I had that too as a child. Knowing that my own mind is capable of doing exactly what scares me the most.
But really that fear isn't rational if you think about it. Your brain has no reason to harm itself. I mean have you ever heard of someone who was traumatised by something in a dream? No. Because your brain knows the limit. When it gets too scarry it just wakes you up and you're fine.

Don't read or listen to Creepy Pastas. If you don't know what they are don't try to find out.

Make a point to read, watch and listen to positive and happy things, especially before bed. Your brain is like a computer so what you put in is what comes out. Stop loading the hard drive between your ears up with garbage.

There's also the possibility that you enjoy feeling this way.
