Sounds like an "Introversion meets Social Anxiety" issue. I'm the same way. I'm 19, soon to be 20 and in college (hence the user name). I'm guessing, as a young teen, you are still in high school where your peers' opinions of you really matter. In college your peers don't define you as much as they did in high school, so the pressure of fitting in and the embarrassment you feel for not fitting in will decrease. Being Introverted is fine, but shyness/Social Anxiety is definitely something to work on.
Is it normal to be so introverted ?
