Is it normal to be so easily fascinated with history and the past?

  • It's cool. To those who like it, History is their thing. I wasn't into it terribly in school, at the time, I thought taking it in college was a grotesque misuse of my time and money. It wasn't until I got terribly interested in coin collecting that I got into history. Looking stuff up about coins, why a particular coin came to be etc. lead me to rediscover history and put into context all those silly little dates I had to remember to pass exams in school and university.
    For instance:
The history of the United States Dollar and how it came to be in 1792 has a rich history that goes back to several European countries as far back as the late 1400's.

The best learning is the learning you do for yourself out of curiosity. It is not sad at all. It is fun to do. It is also smart because as long as your curious you will learn and become smarter.
