I'm so sorry. That's awful. A similar thing happened to me and it almost destroyed friendships, but we talked things out and things got better (though we are still all moving out in a few months). I think that before the holidays you should sit them down and talk to them about basic household maintenance/cleanliness and give them a few weeks to see if they can turn it around. Also definitely get them to face the reality about taking responsibility for their pet. If they don't change you should absolutely send them packing. The conversation will let them know how much their lifestyle bothers you and will make the kicking out less shocking to them.
