Is it normal to be scared to take birth control

So my doctor prescribe me birth control for my crazy irregular periods ... But my parents don't accept it because of our religious beliefs .. And I'm afraid to tell my parents because I know that they r going to judge me ... So my question is should I take and hide it from my parents ... Or should I just follow my religious beliefs and not take it ....
