It's from that bloody movie, isn't it? Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho"? I'm assuming the fear is to do with being attacked when you're vulnerable?
I live alone so have to shower with no-one around and it only very rarely bothers me in the daytime, but it does make me a bit nervous at night. I always keep my doors locked all the time anyway because I was raped in this house years ago and I have a dog who would certainly let me know if there were an intruder.
Can you get by without a shower until there's someone in the house? Just do what gives you the strongest feeling of safety and take care of yourself.
Oh my Lord, I feel for you living in the house where the rape occurred!
I also keep my doors perpetually locked. I sometimes meet older, small town people who talk about how they used to leave their doors unlocked. I always think to myself why on Earth would someone deliberately leave their door unlocked. I just don't see the point in leaving them unlocked. I love my safety and privacy.
IIN to be scared to shower when I'm home alone?

What kind of dog do you have?
