Is it normal to be scared of new year?

So, I only recently started going out into town and pubs and night clubs, im 21 and never really had experience with men, for reasons I wont say! Im just shy and quiet and not met someone I click with yet.
Anyway I go out with my cousin and her friends and its great, but its coming up to new years eve the big one.. and someone told me if you go out then you must kiss someone and midnight but kissing a stranger isn't my thing! so im terrified. My cousin usually takes her boyfriend and all her other mates have kids so their partners stay at home with the kids usually. But i dont want to kiss anyone and I don't want to look stupid! Help?

    I quite like all the kissing and hugging at new year if I'm with friends but not with strangers. One year when I lost sight of everyone I knew I went for a walk by myself just before midnight so I wouldn't have to cope with being physically intimate with strangers. Maybe you could hide in the toilet for a while until it dies down

    You don't have to it's just like a tradition and you do it with your boyfriend or girlfriend not really with a stranger

    You don't have to do anything you don't want to it. Nobody is gonna come and kiss you without your concession
