I am so sorry for your loss i cant imagine how you must feel right now but i don't think you should date someone that you want to look at as a father figure. If you date someone who you see as a father figure then your 'sexual' relationship will feel strange.
You should have someone as a close friend who you can trust with your life, is a shoulder to cry on and will always be there for you and to help you out if you want to look at him as a father figure because i think someone you are 'dating' is different to someone you see as a father figure.
