I acknowledged he was flawed, I even thought the tributes to him were awkward to watch as they painted him as someone he wasn’t.
I’m not sad because I think he was an exemplary person but because he represented another part of my grandparents’ generation dying and the situation of the Queen being widowed echos a situation I’m seeing in my own life.
