Is it normal to be sad

Is it normal that I have more downs then ups in my personality. Meaning I'm depressed more then I'm happy I don't feel that it's normal but I don't know what to do.

it sounds like a minor case of depression.....talk to your doctor about a low-dose antidepressant.

I have a friend exactly like you- and i definitly think that it isn't normal to be so sad. I say that you should really think of things that you like, and u should rely on them when ur down. I do also get very sad sometimes, but if u think of it as... you only get one life so try and live a nice happy life. None of thinking bad thoughts.

hmmm sometimes treating depression can lead to other things.. like antidepression drugs can lead to other sever symtoms... if this was me i would talk to people close or maybe think of what is getting you down and improve on it. Be happy.

The best thing to do is to talk to someone. Anyone who you feel comfortable with but preferably someone with the maturity/life experience to give you good advice. If you have been feeling this way for a while (i.e. two weeks or more) you may want to make an appointment with your GP to discuss they way you have been feeling and together you can find a solution to your problem.

That solution may not be anti-depressants, it is entirely up to you. The majority of people do suffer adverse affects from taking medication though and since you always start on a very low dose, those effects are minimized even more. From personal experience, I find the best thing is combination of therapy and medication but it is all about finding the best solution for you :)

      Take care and good luck!

You need to explain and discuss this problem thoroughly with your doctor.

It sounds like you may have depression or some other mental illness, which is very common. Your case will most likely be very treatable.
