I do get annoyed, but it is out of jealousy. You have to realize that when you love a person, you never want to let them go. Maybe you show your love towards your partner in a different way than a clingy couple would, but that doesn't mean it's any better. As for those who are desperate, well most of us fear dying alone, some more than others.
