Is it normal to be pro life AND call yourself a feminist?

  • I think it is definitely possible to be pro-life and feminist. These women see a child as a human at conception and thus distinguished from their mother once there.

    Most of the liberal arguments about abortion are logical. Most pro-lifers are not angry bible thumpers who see children as suitable punishment for any woman who is ungodly enough to spread her accursed legs. They see embryos as people.

    Conservative feminists believe that woman and baby are not one. They believe that the government subsidizing non-medical birth control when they could be putting more money into, say, finding a cure for diabetes to be wrong on a level between moral and fiscal. Adults who have sex should pay for their own protection. To conservative feminists, it's not about pushing for female privilege rather, it is for advocating and advancing female independence and personal responsibility.

    Their bottom line is that sex is not a necessary function of life. You will die without food, water, shelter and necessary medication. Those are needs. You will not die without sex. That is a want. In this life, we must pay extra for what we want.
