Is it normal to be pregnant at 35

Very first pregnancy.

All my friends had their kids at 19/20 (or younger even).

I feel like The Ugly Duckling who got left out of everything lol.

My friends kids are in high school and I'm barely having one. :(

Is It Normal?

    • Explain that to teen mothers.

      • Sadly, my Aunt started at 13years old, skipping school and everything. Imagine being 13 years older than your own child? Of course my grandparents had to take care of her son and all the children had the following years as a young teenager. It was crazy...

    • I think so too, but it's apparently the norm now. I'm almost 30 and some of my co-workers 20 and younger who have multiple kids nag me about why I don't want any. Lol

To the OP, it doesn't matter if you have a kid at your age as long as you can take care of them and give them lots of love. You're perfectly fine!
      :)

  • I'm waiting until I'm 29 or early 30s to have children, because I never liked the idea of having children so young and unprepared. I rather avoid the struggle, and give my children a good, stable home with mature parents.

  • I had my first at 36. I have a few friends who have also had their first kids at 35+. I didn’t even want kids until I was in my late 20s. Sometimes I do wish I was younger in terms of having more energy etc. but I’m also glad I’m old enough to have had some life experience and be totally ready.

  • Congratulations! Absolutely nothing wrong with you.

I don't plan on having kids anytime soon and I'm 24.

    • Thanks, that means a lot coming from an Irish potato. :')

Potatoes are my favorite vegetable and my grandparents were from Ireland.

    • Girls in modernized societies are often spoiled and don't know anything about taking care of themselves, let alone kids. I know that many cultures, girls of 20 are mature enough to care for children.

But a couple of my friends, trust me, are not fit for raising children. They misbehave in public like children, and then complain that their kids don't listen to them lol

  • Congratulations hun!!!
You can have a baby at whatever age YOU deem ready. A guy i know is going to be a dad for the first time and he just hit 40yrs if that makes you feel any better.
    xx

    • Actually never thought I *would* be ready. I believed I was infertile, so I expected to live my life without children. It was a happy surprise for me and daddy, though. He's very excited lol.
