It's always hard to keep a conversation going online. All the visual queues and changes of voice which you naturally pick up on are missing, so you don't know if the other person is interested in what you're saying or not, or wether they're as worried about the conversation as you are. Don't worry about it, a lot of people who are fine speaking to each other have trouble sustaining any meaningful conversation online.
