Is it normal to be overly paranoid and think negatively about friends

I've noticed I have trouble trusting friends, forgiving people and think very negatively about friends other than my family that I'm very fortunate to have. If it weren't for my family, I'm not sure how I could cope or stay sane.i never feel like this around my family...just my friends sometimes. is this normal and what causes this?

  • Sometimes you learn things from other people's past experiences if you have not experienced them yourself. That's where the trust issues might come from if they are not from your family.
In a way I'm sort of the same way. I have a lot of trouble trusting people. Yet, I don't find it too hard to trust my own family. It's probably because of the bond that you guys have shared throughout your whole life, also because you might go through life with the mindset that friends are temporary, while family is forever.
When you said that, if it werent for your family you think you would be going insane or unable to cope. Sometimes I feel that way as well. Sometimes I look at other peoples lives like some of my friends, and think that if I were not brought up in the family that I grew up in, and if I were not raised the way they raised me, I would be a wreck, and probably have a lot of issues. But I also think a lot of what you believe in, like a religion for example, can hold you together, and prevent you from doing things that a psychotic person would do.
    What you're feeling is normal.

  • Insecurities? You got to learn to trust them, think you should list why you don't trust them and overcome these fears or ideas.
