I can see someone getting hurt badly unless it is a mutually agreed in whatever format. What is done under the cover of darkness is usually not fruitful. Better to do in the light and have fun. However, you're in a bind if your partner is against an open arrangement.
My opinion is based on the age old male insecurity, maybe he's a better lover than me, maybe you will fall in love with him, maybe love him more than me etc. This is my motivation for being monogamous, selfishness and insecurity. I don't want another man's cock inside my princess. And if I am monogamous and she trusts me, I have reasonable comfort that I can trust her to be faithful as well. Misguided perhaps. This is not a reflection of my wonderful girl.
