Well not even an hour ago my mom and step father were talking about how people don't give him enough credit on how smart he really is. I'll admit, he knows more then I do when it comes to being street smart, but I'm a hell of a lot smarter then him, and my mother, when it comes to being book smart. Im a strait A teen, I'm in all the advanced stuff, and have been told I'm smarter then a lot of people in my family. And he had the nerve to tell me that he is smarter than me in the long un because he has more street smears than I, and it totally pissed me off. My mother even told me I need to work on being street smart! It's like being as good as I am in school isn't enough.. I'm so mad I'm probably making a bunch of grammar mistakes.. What do you think??

    Your stepfathers a bum and your mom so blindly in love of course agrees. It's ok, one day they'll see you make more money than both of them combined, and you won't even need to be street smart coz u won't even be in the streets.

    Just nod and smile. They are two @ssholes well-suited to each other.

    Just think ... they could've made two normal intelligent people very unhappy if they hadn't partnered up.

    I think that your stepfather is an asshole just like my stepfather. You are right to be offended. I've encountered many similar situations growing up. Don't let them get you down.

    Being street smart means not letting the little stuff get to you, but rather letting it roll off your back. So it seems you prove his point well.

    Its nice to know that you are confident about your self being smart

    but my fear is , you may be over confident that you are smart.

    Smartness and experience in life are two different. Even if you are over smart you would end up being cheated ( various reason ) . DO not try to compete with your step dad you may be more smarter but hes got more experience of life

    It's not all obout hte books you need to have common sense. If you in a government school (aka public school) the you would be about average intelegence. Trust me I was in public, private is better

    well as soon as you get out of school you're not gona need the book smart thing for much but you need to be street smart for everyday things. im about half and half i think but its stupid to be offended by it.

    Everyone thinks they are cleverer than everyone else. Some of them (like your stepfather) even say it out loud. Saying it doesn't making him cleverer. Neither does thinking it.

    Try not to let it annoy you, though. Life isn't fair. People lie. People are arrogant. Nothing will change any of that and getting bothered by it will only bring you down.

    Oh, and knowing that if the numer sign on top of the cab is not lit, it doesn't matter how far into the street you're standing, it's not stopping.
