Also about the dog, get a Malamute. there about a close as you can get to a actual wolf, except they are less aggressive than wolves.
You could probably find a dog that was actually part wolf, but Wolf Hybrids (any dog that's part wolf) are pretty aggressive and difficult to train, so unless you really knew what you were doing, go with the Alaskan Malamute.
