You were not barely around, you were for your purposes not alive. I'm older and wonder if I lived in the real live 80s, I can never find out because memories don't have datestamps. (though I read that 80s pop culture lasted 1 year later than the calendar, just like the "real" centuries were 1789-1914, WWI-Cold War, and 1992-?)

We might not have been around for long, but we love the decade anyway and yes the 80s lasted up to 1990.
